Collections Manager

JOB SUMMARYResponsible for the control of late and/or delinquent loan accounts and pending late payment reminders.
Make follow up telephone calls on delinquent loan accounts and maintain accurate records on delinquent loan accounts.
Optimize collections on accounts while balancing the goodwill of members with the overall business interests of the credit union.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS o Monitor member accounts for late payments and/or delinquency status.
o Ensure professional communication with all members and employees.
o Ensure employees are maintaining professional communication standards.
o Contact high balance and/or delinquent members by phone, email, mail, or text to determine the reasons for balance or delinquency o Assist Members and advocates in developing plans to bring accounts to a current status.
o Develop workout plans and collect on overdue accounts wherever possible.
o Notify co-signers regarding status of delinquent accounts.
o Update files and system accounts.
o Input, update, and maintain as-needed Credit Bureau Reporting through the E-Oscar portal.
o Complete skip tracing requests for accounts as needed.
o Maintain accurate data for all department logs including but not limited to Repossession, Bankruptcy, Collection, write off and charge off logs.
o Conduct thorough account research to help determine reasons for account delinquency including but not limited to ACH distributions, Auto Funds Transfers, changes in payroll patterns.
o Assist members with delinquent real estate loans to resolve delinquency.
o Make recommendations on delinquent accounts per the Credit Union guidelines.
o Work with the Credit Union legal team to communicate with attorneys and repossession agents.
o File all claims, attend hearings, and coordinate with trustees for all bankruptcy filings.
o Prepare for and hold semi-monthly department meetings.
o Coordinate employee training and development.
o Identify areas of opportunity for growth within the department.
o Engage with the department to ensure completion of all assigned duties and tasks.
o Conduct disciplinary conversations and documentation of department employees as needed.
o Complete and conduct employee reviews as assigned by HR.
o Maintain an up-to-date department duty log.
o Ensure all department procedures are accurate and up-to-date.
o Other duties as assigned by President/CEO or Executive Management.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
